Kelly Chau San Francisco Wedding Photographer bio picture
  • Welcome! Come on in and grab a seat :)

    Hi there. I’m Kelly!

    I am... A photographer and a dreamer. An idealist. A fashion-fiend and a t-shirt-and-sweatpants gal. A glass-is-half-full believer. An introvert and chatterbox. A travel-bug and homebody. A timid adventurer. A walking contradiction. :)

One thing stands true: I have a love affair with photography. I'm in love with relationships.

Relationships are dynamic and special. All of them are different. It’s my job to reflect what makes you unique through my perspective behind my lens. I love the way your fiance thinks your laugh is magnetic and how he finds it adorable when you twirl your hair with your fingers. I think your kid’s dimple is the cutest dang thing on planet earth. I want to capture that sparkle in your eye when you walk down the aisle.

I’m here to peek inside your world and document your relationships. Why? Because life is all about relationships. We are only as great as the love we share. I fell in love with weddings when I married my best friend three years ago. My husband is the best thing that happened to me, better than Oreo cookie ice cream and J Crew. And, that's saying a lot. :) He's the reason I believe in marriage with my whole heart and why I love wedding photography.

So, that's my story in a lens cap. I'd love to learn yours! Fill out the contact form and let's chat.

Kelly Chau is based in San Francisco and available for commissions worldwide.

Julie & Henry – Kaiser Rooftop Garden Wedding

Sometimes, a best friend turns out to be a soulmate. Such was the case with Julie & Henry.:) These two amazing people have the sweetest story! Friends from church, they were the best of buddies for many years until one day, Henry decided to move from SF back home to Michigan. It could’ve been the anticipation of separation that caused these two to spend more time together. Whatever it was, when Henry returned to Michigan, the two of them found themselves emailing and texting non-stop. Over the thousands of miles between them, they couldn’t deny they were more than just buddies. Julie planned a trip to Michigan and the two anxiously awaited their first real “date” since they had defined themselves as a couple. :)

Eventually, Julie decided to move out to Michigan for grad school and they were finally reunited. And, well, we all know the happy ending to this tale. Now their future kids will also know that distance, patience, and a lot of laughter can be the ingredients for a wonderful love story.

Congrats, you two! I had a wonderful time photographing your wedding and I look forward to catching up the next time you guys are back to the bay area.:)

Stasia & Tim – San Francisco Engagement Session

They say laughter is the best medicine. If this is true, Stasia & Tim are destined to live long and happy lives, because I’ve never been around a couple with more laughter than they share between them. It’s contagious! I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding this October.:)

With her adorable freckles, Stasia bears a striking resemblance to Lucy Liu, doesn’t she?ghiradelli square engagement session san francisco
